Liam headshot.jpg

Liam O’Connor-Genereaux

Director, Writer, Editor
Homeland: The Green Hills of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom

In the Wizard Of Oz the Tin Woodman is extra sensitive, since he knows he has no heart. Liam, by the same token, knows he has no concept of reality, and is therefore extra attuned to the hiccups and crazy twists that real life keeps spitting out. He has wandered across 20+ countries and still hasn’t found the haybale that messed up his hair. Butterfly Queen is Liam’s second feature film.

Kade Headshot2.jpg

Kade Pintado

Plays Casey in Butterfly Queen
Homeland: The Nonstop Swamps of Southern Louisiana

Kade has been film acting on and off for the past decade or so. While at Emerson, they met Liam, who brought them on for the ride of their life in by playing Izzy in Zephyr. The Butterfly Queen is special to Kade in so many ways. This production has been a beacon and a friend for Kade during the pandemic and Kade’s process of coming out publicly as nonbinary. This is the first production they’ve been in since coming out, and they are so grateful to get to bring a character like Casey to life.

For Kade, performing has always been a freeing and healing practice. Now, while still pursuing acting, Kade is also building a career in therapeutic work. They currently do recreational therapy at a memory care center. Kade loves living in a little Boston gayborhood with their cat named Normal, working professionally at leisure activities with people much older than themself, while rediscovering their voice “post”-pandemic and post-transition.

Katelyn Paddock

2020 Marketing for The Butterfly Queen
Homeland: The deepest, darkest reaches of Connecticut.

Katelyn’s first words were “per my last email.” She stage manages, acts, baristas, and buys more notebooks than she can find purpose for. You see, it was such a nice color, and you can never have too many, right? She is thrilled to be involved in The Butterfly Queen (it’s the first film she’s ever worked on) with such a driven and talented band of artists!

Dimitrios Kapoukranidis

Composer
Homeland: Northeast Kingdom of Vermont

A classically trained composer by night and mental health clinician by day, Dimitrios loves the collaborative creative process and is excited to be working on The Butterfly Queen, as scoring storytelling media is one of his musical passions. He’s a born and raised New-Englander with the slang and flannel collection to show for it, and can often be found in his studio clutching a mug full of tea, analyzing modern musical harmony for “fun”.

Cas Pryer

Production Sound Mixer
Homeland: Bradford, Vermont

Cas is a community-oriented filmmaker (and sometimes soundie) drawn to the absurd, the human, and the magic in-between. Since graduating from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts in Production and Screenwriting, she has worked on numerous shorts and two features. “Pam,” which she both costume and production designed, is currently featured on Omeleto with over 65,000 views. Her costume debut — the short “Heaven,” has garnered awards for Best Art Direction and Best Animated Short from the AI International Film Festival. In her (little) spare time she writes, and recently attended the Stowe Story Labs, where her horror feature script Amorphous was a selected project and top ten finalist for the Tangerine Entertainment Fellowship. These days she works on an HBO sitcom under costume designer Trayce Gigi Field, whose recent work includes A League of Their Own and Rian Johnson’s Pokerface. She hails from Vermont (and holds the opportunity to work with fellow Vermont filmmakers near and dear to her heart).

He believes film has the power to work social justice magic, and he can't wait to see it come to life!

Natalie_Headshot.jpg
image_from_ios.jpg

Natalie Nicholallenson

Assistant Costumer
Homeland: The Clogged Suburbs of Massachusetts

Natalie has been acting, playing, and dressing up since before she can remember, and she has no plans to stop now. She loves making her own life difficult by tackling costuming projects she probably shouldn’t, yelling at her carnivorous sewing machine when it eats her fabric, and wondering why she does this to herself — not that any of that would ever stop her from doing it all over again the next time a project caught her eye. If she had to describe herself with one meme, it would be the dog in the burning house saying “This is fine”. This is her second feature film working with Liam.

Megan Sermonis

Mask Maker/Prop Assistant
Homeland: The Depths of the Finger Lakes

A year and a half ago, Megan tripped into the world of prop making by crocheting with plastic bags in the UVM theater. In the time since, she has made psychedelic rat heads, fake cakes, Shakespearean manuscripts and a dog puppet for the stage. The Butterfly Queen is Megan’s first time making props that will be seen closer than six feet away. As a life long crafter, she is excited to stretch her technical skills and still can’t believe this is the magical world she gets to work in.
